Upgrade the fuel system of a BMW N55 with a Dorch Engineering High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP). Available in DS15, DS25 and DS3 configurations, these direct-injection fuel pump upgrades are designed for tuned N55 engines that have exceeded the capacity of the factory HPFP.
Each Dorch N55 HPFP is engineered as an OEM-style, plug-and-play replacement with full DME control. No cutting, bending or crimping of the factory fuel system is required on supported applications.
Whether the vehicle is a street-driven BMW running an upgraded turbo, an ethanol-powered build or a high-power track setup, the three Dorch HPFP options make it possible to select the fueling capacity that best matches the intended power level.
The Dorch DS15-250 replaces the previous Dorch Stage 1 / DS1 pump and is designed for moderately upgraded N55 builds.
The pump has been redesigned from the ground up with revisions to the pressure chamber, spring rates, plunger depth and volumetric efficiency. The DS15 is capable of operating at up to 250 bar and provides a substantial increase in fuel flow compared with the factory N55 HPFP.
It is an excellent choice for vehicles that need more fuel than the stock HPFP can provide without requiring the additional capacity of the DS25 or DS3.

Actual fuel-system capacity can vary depending on ethanol content, tuning strategy, injectors, fuel pressure targets and engine configuration.
The Dorch DS25-250 replaces the previous Dorch Stage 2 / DS2 and provides considerably more flow capacity for higher-output N55 applications.
Like the DS15, the DS25 was redesigned with optimized internal geometry, pressure chamber characteristics, spring rates, plunger depth and volumetric efficiency.
The DS25 is designed to operate efficiently at up to 250 bar, making it particularly suitable for high-power direct-injection setups and applications using upgraded DI injectors.
For builds requiring still more fuel capacity, the DS25 can be combined with a Dorch N55 Lift Kit (N55LK).

The DS25 is well suited to upgraded-turbo N55 builds where the DS15 no longer provides sufficient fueling headroom.
The Dorch DS3 / Stage 3 HPFP is the highest-flowing standalone N55 HPFP in the Dorch range covered here.
Designed for builds that require more fuel than the DS25 can supply but do not require a complete N55LK combination, the DS3 uses Dorch's largest pump bore and provides approximately 20% more fueling capacity than the DS25.
It retains the same OEM-style drop-in installation concept while providing significantly increased direct-injection fueling capability.

The DS3 is particularly suitable for high-output and track-focused N55 builds where maximum fueling from a single HPFP is required.
The appropriate Dorch HPFP depends primarily on the vehicle's fuel type and expected power level.

Power figures represent approximate fuel-flow potential and should not be interpreted as guaranteed engine output. Actual capacity depends on the complete fuel system, ethanol percentage, tuning, fuel pressure, injector configuration and engine setup.
Dorch N55 HPFP kits are designed as direct-fit upgrades for compatible BMW N55 applications.
The pumps retain full factory DME control, allowing the engine management system to continue controlling high-pressure fuel delivery in the same manner as the OEM pump.
Installation does not require cutting, bending or crimping fuel lines.
Depending on the selected pump, the kit includes the required high-pressure fuel line, low-pressure connection components and plug-and-play electrical adapter harness for installation.
The DS15-250 and DS25-250 are designed for operation at up to 250 bar.
Dorch supplies a compatible high-pressure fuel line with its HPFP kits, allowing the upgraded pump to connect directly to the N55 fuel rail without modifying the OEM hardline.
This higher operating-pressure capability can also help maximize available flow when used with suitable direct-injection hardware and calibration.
A software calibration change is required when installing a Dorch upgraded HPFP.
Both MHD and Bootmod3 (BM3) support Dorch HPFP configurations. When flashing the vehicle, the appropriate Dorch HPFP option can be selected in the tuning software.
For custom tuning environments, the required HPFP calibration changes can also be implemented through the vehicle's calibration file.
The vehicle should not be operated with an upgraded HPFP without the correct software configuration.

As turbocharger airflow, boost pressure and ethanol content increase, the factory N55 high-pressure fuel pump can become a limiting factor.
When the HPFP can no longer maintain the commanded rail pressure, additional engine airflow cannot safely be supported by the direct-injection fuel system.
