  Gen 2 engines (often referred to as B58TU or B58TU1, with variants like B58B30O1 for performance models and B58B30M1/C for others) introduced major hardware changes, including a revised cylinder head with integrated exhaust manifold, updated cooling system, and upgraded fuel pump. These models typically use the M40i designation.
